Description

These mouth trays are found in 90-95% of teeth whitening kits that contain trays. They are made of a flexible substance which when heated and applied to the teeth, will confirm to the shape of your own mouth and teeth. When moulding, the water needs to be at an almost exact temperature to allow the tray to be soft enough to mould around your teeth, but not too warm to form over itself. For some people they can be a little tricky to make which is why we always include an extra third tray in case a mistake is made.

Instructions

MOULDING YOUR TRAYS IS OPTIONAL. IF YOU FIND THEM COMFORTABLE AND NOT TOO BULKY IN THEIR NON MOULDED SHAPE, THEY CAN STILL BE USED.

Practice placing the tray over your teeth. With your tongue against the roof of your mouth, suck the air away from the tray until it begins to feel tighter. This will shape the tray to your teeth. When you are comfortable continue with the next step.

Boil a pan of water approximately 10cm in depth so that the tray will be fully immersed but keeping the tab above the water. After the water has come to a boil, turn the heat down so it stops boiling and place the tray in the hot water for 5 seconds. The trays will become very pliable at this point and may stick together. While the trays are in this state avoid twirling them as it may damage the natural contour of the tray.

Lift the tray vertically from the water using the tab. Carefully and quickly place the tray around your teeth as mentioned above. You can also push the tray against all sides of the teeth to help shape it better.

Once you are satisfied with the fit, trim the front tab away from the tray with scissors.
