TOOTH CONDITIONING
Sensitivity
All bleaching gel causes some degree of tooth sensitivity. This is sensitivity to cold/hot fluids and even air can cause discomfort. This is normal and an expected side effect. Luckily there are products available to help with this side effect. If tooth sensitivity does occur we recommend to either discontinue use for a few days and the sensitivity will dissipate within 24-48 hours. Don’t be concerned as bleaching does not need to be done consecutively. You will get to the same whitening point, it will just take a little longer.
Remineralisation
Consumption of acidic foods and drinks, as well as all types of tooth bleaching can also cause a loss of essential tooth minerals. While saliva helps restore these minerals, using a remineralizing product helps the process by delivering these critical tooth minerals directly to the tooth surface. We sell 3 different types of desensitising and remineralisation products in the form of:
Toothpastes |
Should be used as your regular toothpaste through-out your whitening treatment. |
Pre-filled trays |
Used before and/or after your whitening treatment for 15 to 60 minutes. |
Gels |
To be used with your custom trays. Used before and/or after your whitening treatment for 30 minutes. |
A desensitiser and remineralising product is highly recommend for those who are whitening their teeth. We recommend Dr. Collins Restore Toothpaste as it contains both high grade remineralising and desensitising agents in a convenient toothpaste.
